Had a return client come in for a full DD Audio system install.  I recently installed a single 12" DD Audio package system into his car, with about 350 watts of power.  It was good enough to get him into the spirit of good sound.  A few months later he's back for more....in a big way.

We kept the 600 watt amp I installed, but we swapped out for (2) two 12" 500 series woofers in a custom made slot ported box.
I replaced the stock speakers (which were factory amplified premium speakers) with DD's CS5.2 and CS6.5 component speakers to provide with crisp, clear sound. Installed the crossovers in the doors and hardwired them back to the new 4 channel DD Audio amplifier.

Originally I installed the 600 watt mono amp on the back seat, but seeing as how the 4 channel amp was the same size, there just wasn't enough room for this to happen.  So, after a few minutes of playing around with location, up under the deck lid was where they both went.
Install was a bit difficult, as in order to get them up there and miss the subwoofer box and the deck lid when it shuts, I had to put them in JUST the right spot.  Now the amps are completely hidden and out of the way, and if the box needs to be removed, you can't even tell the car has an aftermarket system installed......just the way I like it.

Without any sound deadening installed, this system actually sounded amazing....this is DD's entry level system, and I'm more than impressed with it.

Customer will be back for sound deadening and more fire power under the hood (Battery)....but for now, he's one happy customer.

Phil brought his Porsche Targa back for an upgrade.
He loved the way the Memphis MClass speakers sounded (who wouldn't) but he wanted more.
Being that it's a sudo-convertible, adding an amp to boost the speakers to a higher, crisper,
un-distorted sound is the next step.
Naturally, the Porsche would only get the best....so we threw in an MClass 4 channel Amp (MC4.50) This is giving the speakers 50 watts at minimum to power through the road noise and wind.
This is exactly what the Targa needed....but I'm thinking he might be back to add a sub :) :)

While I was in there, he asked me to take a look at the 'stock-ish' alarm that was installed...giving him sporadic false alarms throughout the night. I located the 'brain' back in a cubby hole, un-zip tied and just rattling around....Phil no longer has the remotes for it, and the
company has long been out of business. So I yanked that and a bunch of other wires that were just chilling in the boot, attached to the fuse block and battery....but to nothing else.

So....moral of the story....if you want really good sound and your car needs to lose some (wire) weight.....Come to Trax Customs :)

Had a client come in with a Phoenix Gold Amp and a Alpine Type S Bandpass box he wanted thrown in his Accord.
He's already installed a PAC iPod adapter, so he didn't need a new deck installed.....so I simply installed a new PAC interface behind the stock deck to give me Audio Outs.....put the amp under the driver seat, which is covered nicely by the floor mat, and the sub is easily removable if trunk space is needed.

Thing pounds for a 4 channel amp.......which means the customer will be back to install a good front stage speaker system down the road.

Cheers!

Adding to last years upgrade:

Installed a Mono Block Alpine amplifier to push a JL woofer in a ported box.
Rewired the rear speakers to be on the 4 channel Alpine as well.

Cheers

Finally get a chance to hear this wicked pair of tower speakers from Memphis Car Audio.
They'll be powered by the Memphis Marine 4 channel amp getting roughly 120 watts each (should be plenty of power to make those horn tweeters scream) and 2 spare channels to add a subwoofer down the road (if needed).

These will be going in a brand new 2011 MB boat....so until then....cheers!

Hit it hard on Friday night and haven't stopped until now (Sunday night)
Had some time to get some other projects started and did some random mini installs while I was at it...all it all, I'm just waiting on paint on the corners and taillights....and the subwoofer amp.....then we're donezo!!!!

Got the speakers all installed upfront and 4 channel amp temporarily hooked up and gave it a listen.   Un-tuned and all the settings untouched..this system already sounds crazy good....highs are perfect and the midbass is very impressive!!!!  All that hardwork on the sound deadening was worth it...we'll see what happens when we add 2400 watts to two subwoofers.....which, by the way, have a home now.....got the subwoofer box smoothed out and texture coated.....thing is a BEAST.....you want SPL out of a daily, while having good tunes when it's not hitting hard....gotta build the box as big as you can.....Box was a bit bigger than I wanted...but to get it tuned right, had to go this route.........gonna slam!

Got the headlights sealed up and ready for a final tweak/leveling once the corners get smoked.

Got the LEDs wired up front on a switch and other than that....long weekend...but we're about 95% done....waiting on the Mailman now (not Karl Malone).

Cheers
