Had a customer bring in a Saturn that already had a nice Alpine Headunit and some aftermarket speakers.....just needed some bump.
Digital Designs 500 package fit them perfectly for what they wanted and their budget.

Digital Designs 500 series 12" woofer placed into a perfectly matched ported enclosure that's finished off with their logo stitched in red, provides just enough bass when it's put on a CM600 amp....this little monoblock pushes plenty of power to this setup and the customer was happy.  Mounted the amp on the back seat and hide the wires the best the car would allow it.

Cheers!

Had a client come in with a Phoenix Gold Amp and a Alpine Type S Bandpass box he wanted thrown in his Accord.
He's already installed a PAC iPod adapter, so he didn't need a new deck installed.....so I simply installed a new PAC interface behind the stock deck to give me Audio Outs.....put the amp under the driver seat, which is covered nicely by the floor mat, and the sub is easily removable if trunk space is needed.

Thing pounds for a 4 channel amp.......which means the customer will be back to install a good front stage speaker system down the road.

Cheers!

Adding to last years upgrade:

Installed a Mono Block Alpine amplifier to push a JL woofer in a ported box.
Rewired the rear speakers to be on the 4 channel Alpine as well.

Cheers

Had a client come in that was concerned about his stock sound system (amplified Focal speakers....if you call that stock)(owner didn't know that Focals were installed).
He's a true audiophile at heart....so Hybrid Audio Technologies is the first speaker that popped into my head.  Wasn't sure about what model to go with, since it's a convertible; but the owner didn't want to install a subwoofer, so Clarus was the choice; they have a lower range of frequencies that they can play...so we squeezed the more amount of mid-bass out of them as we could.

Owner had pre-selected an amazing deck, the Alpine CDA-117....truely an audiophiles headunit of choice.....more audio tweaking options that most need.....just enough for this project.

The doors got a 3 layer sound deadening system (inner door skin, middle door skin, and inside door panel) to help the mid bass out as well as block some road noise.

All of this was pushed by the Arc Audio KS Mini, 2 channel amp....perfect size to fit under the seat where most other amps wouldn't dream of fitting.

Started Saturday morning out with a quick install.
Put an Alpine  CD player in with an Alpine Power Pack.  These little power packs are kind of nice.  They are a hide-away unit that wires directly in-line with the headunit, so no need to add additional power wires and what not.....actually hid nicely under the aftermarket Alpine...and gave it a definite boost in highs and mids.  Worth the upgrade.

Lifted Sierra came back to button up some additional add-ons.  Added steering wheel controls and navigation to the Clarion we put in last week.  Steering wheel controls are a must if they are existing and the navigation will aid the owner when he gets down to Texas.  Also replaced all the stock lights that were yellow with blue LEDs....turned out great...once again....too bright outside to get good photos.

Cheers

Busted out a quick install last night for a client.  Pretty cool, as this was probably the first 'Pawn Shop' install I've done where it wasn't JUNK product.  Owner picked up an Alpine M5D M500 amp, had all digital controls with temperature, voltage and amperage displays....pretty neat.
Quick and dirty install, sounded pretty damn good, and customer was happy.

Cheers

I say complete, because Kip (owner) is here for a month, and I've put off some things to get his feedback, and will finish everything up before he goes back to New York.

So here are some final shots....for now!!

Today, for the first time, was my first actual full day I was out in the shop.....kind of crazy to think of it like that, but that's why it's been taking forever.....when you work a full 40 at the main gig, then come home and get motivated to go out in the shop...you only have 3-4 hours of actual work a night.....doesn't amount to much.
So anyways...here we go!

Got the subbox in with the beautry panels, and they go in and out without a problem....so I'm not going to do an access panel for the windshield fluid or battery, since it will only take one screw and that will all come out.  Also, put a layer of body filler on the subbox and will attack that tomorrow!

Installed the backup camera today, as well as the rear raday jammer, so we're good back there.  Got the backup camera's module all wired up and hidden away, made sure to leave the box somewhere you can get to, just in case.  Also installed the antennas for the GPS on the Alpine DVD player as well as the Escort 9500ci radar detector.

First photo shows you how I get motivated.....only 4 days left :S :S :S

Cheers!

Got alot done today....thanks to my new space heater....it's crazy how much 10 degrees warmer can make you motivated to stay out in the shop!

Cut out the beauty panel and glassed the backside for stability.  Also, trimmed up the wheel well mold and put a few more layers on the side to beef them up....tomorrow we'll be making a base for the rest of the construction to happen.

Started on the wiring for the DVD player.....get the main harness wired in, auxillary wires wired up for accessories, mounted the Bluetooth module, and wired up the Satellite radio modules.  The Evo already had Sirius in it, and I was hoping to keep the factory installed antenna...well, so far so good.  Was able to locate and remove the factory Sirius tuner box, then I fabricated my own direct replacement panel, installed the two Sirius components, and put everything back into the car....looks stock and doesn't lose any much needed space.

Also, figured out where I'm going to mount the Escort display as well as the bluetooth mic...but that's for another day!  Oh, and last but not least....got the DVD player mounted to the factory brackets, but I was tired, and wanted to leave the owner drooling over the last pic....cause he wants to see it mounted!!! HA

Was sick this weekend, so I didn't get much done.  Hooked up a customer on his old Alpine deck.  He wanted an Aux input on his Alpine, and had been using an FM Modulator.  He didn't know about the Ai-net port that's on the backside of the deck, so I hooked it up for him and he was happy as a clam.  Yet, this also describes how I dislike Apple so much.  Everything is iPod based (which is nice if you're one of the billion iPod fans) but for everyone else, all you can do in this market is to plug in your mini-jack headphone plug into an aux input port and JUST play music.  With iPod specific decks, it will charge your iPod and display the music tracks over the deck's display.....pretty nice, if you like iPod.  What about Blackberry or Droid owners?  They have cool phones too, with plenty of music on them. Oh well, Apple is doing their job at cornering the market.  At least there is still satellite radio and bluetooth out there for all other phone owners. Oh, and Pioneer is starting to introduce Pandora integration into their new decks...so all other music fans that love Pandora will not be able to access their playlists/channels IN their cars......take that Apple!
