This is a project I did last year and the customer didn't want to lose any storage space.....so i built a small box to house the dual 8" Digital Designs subwoofers...knowing that they wanted more.
The used amp i installed fried on him after a bolt came loose inside the chassis and did some damage.....so with the upgraded Arc Audio KSMini 500.1 amp, we gained some storage there and customer wanted more of a box built.....so a little amp cover and custom built box later.....system is much more complete!
Made these pods to specifically fit above the headlight buckets in a VW Bus, truck or Van, but they will really fit anywhere there is a flat surface to mount to.
Been working on these for a few weeks, a few minutes here and there....but they finally came together!
On to the next project!
This one had a crazy deadline. One Day, a BUNCH of work, and all before client leaves on a trip.
Customer already had Alpine Type R's installed throughout the cars stock speaker locations.
He had to retain the stock JBL system though, to keep his OEM woofer in the rear.
Well, he picked up a Pioneer 4 Channel Amp as well as a Kenwood Mono Amp.
Goal was to get all the amps installed and mounted, as well as build a custom OEM-style box to fit in the stock location; all while housing (2) two 8" Digital Designs 308 woofers.
After the amps were wired up, I got started on the box...and with only minutes to spare, finished the install by closing time! Alot done for one day, but it sounded good and was worth the extra effort.
The woofers are getting about 250-ish watts rms a piece. They are more efficient in a ported box, but for the space we had, a sealed enclosure was all they were going to get.
Right now, the amp is turned down for break-in purposes, but in a few weeks we can turn it up a bit and let them hit.
Turned down as they are, they provided some pretty low notes, and the mid-bass was much better than the stock JBL system.
It was going to happen sooner or later....well...it happened.
Amp wasn't doing what I wanted it to do, so instead of getting JUST a new amp, H's Aveo got a new 3 channel amp, new subwoofer, new box and new front component speakers.

A good mix of my main 3 brands.
Basically wanted a demo system that I could show clients what a basic sound upgrade would sound like.
You don't have to go all out to get great sound.
A small little amp that takes up the same amount of room as a piece of paper.
6.5" Round speakers in the front and a 10" Subwoofer in the back.
This system does exactly what I wanted it to....very clear, clean highs, good mid bass and plenty of low end notes.
The front aftermarket 4" Pioneers were no comparison for the new hotness that was going in.....they looked cute though....

Rags brought his 21' Weldcraft with a 450 hp 8.1 liter with a Hamilton 212 pump.
This unit didn't come with a stereo of any kind....so we needed to put something in that will piss off the other fishermen out there.....as well as give him the drivin' music to be able to get up some of those gnarly rapids.

We were originally going to just put the Power Reference speakers in, but then I remember I had the Marine speakers for the golf cart project....so we used those.
So technically, power-wise, this boat is at:
50x4 up front, 80x2 in the rear and 350x1 for the subwoofer.
The fronts and rear sound perfect...and since it's an aluminum boat, projects the sound all around and does a good job of it.
The DD sub fit perfectly under the boat's front un-used cabin area, and the port loaded off the front live-well perfectly.....deep deeeeep bass inside and it carries VERY well outside...shaking things inside the garage while we were tuning it.
All in all, this boat system does exactly what Rags wanted it to do, all while only installing a very minimal footprint of electronics.
So slowly but surely I've been getting parts for the truck.
So far we have:

So, now I just have to find the time to tear into it, get it ready for Paint (Full body paint) and then the audio nonsense can begin.
Words cannot express how excited I am about this beast of a sub.....800 watts RMS....giggidy!
So Rags is coming down from Salmon and bringing his new jet boat to get a sound system installed. I'll post pics of that when it's all said and done.

Box was a basic design I had made for someone and they didn't come through.....so, sealed it up perfectly, bedliner'd it, and called it a day.
Then thought might as well make this the center piece of the install....so i threw some plexi on there. Painted one side black, threw a DD sticker on the other side.....worked out perfectly.
Had a return client come in for a full DD Audio system install. I recently installed a single 12" DD Audio package system into his car, with about 350 watts of power. It was good enough to get him into the spirit of good sound. A few months later he's back for more....in a big way.
We kept the 600 watt amp I installed, but we swapped out for (2) two 12" 500 series woofers in a custom made slot ported box.
I replaced the stock speakers (which were factory amplified premium speakers) with DD's CS5.2 and CS6.5 component speakers to provide with crisp, clear sound. Installed the crossovers in the doors and hardwired them back to the new 4 channel DD Audio amplifier.
Originally I installed the 600 watt mono amp on the back seat, but seeing as how the 4 channel amp was the same size, there just wasn't enough room for this to happen. So, after a few minutes of playing around with location, up under the deck lid was where they both went.
Install was a bit difficult, as in order to get them up there and miss the subwoofer box and the deck lid when it shuts, I had to put them in JUST the right spot. Now the amps are completely hidden and out of the way, and if the box needs to be removed, you can't even tell the car has an aftermarket system installed......just the way I like it.
Without any sound deadening installed, this system actually sounded amazing....this is DD's entry level system, and I'm more than impressed with it.
Customer will be back for sound deadening and more fire power under the hood (Battery)....but for now, he's one happy customer.
Had a customer bring in a Saturn that already had a nice Alpine Headunit and some aftermarket speakers.....just needed some bump.
Digital Designs 500 package fit them perfectly for what they wanted and their budget.
Digital Designs 500 series 12" woofer placed into a perfectly matched ported enclosure that's finished off with their logo stitched in red, provides just enough bass when it's put on a CM600 amp....this little monoblock pushes plenty of power to this setup and the customer was happy. Mounted the amp on the back seat and hide the wires the best the car would allow it.
