Cope brought his Jeep Wrangler Rock Crawler in today to get all his electronics hooked up right.
What he needed was his New PIAA lights installed and hooked up proper, his Front and Rear Electronic Lockers hooked up, his winch wired and everything on a custom made switch panel.
I had some old LEDs that were basically brand new laying around, so instead of the red halogen bulbs that came with the switches, he now has Bright Blue.
I custom made the panel for the switches our of ABS Plastic, bent to match the shape of the un-used ash tray.
After wiring everything up, using about 80+ zip ties to secure all the wires, we're good to go.
Been chuggin' away at other projects, but this one is coming along. Just a few more things to do then I can seal these up and ship them out.
This custom made board will be wired into a Plug n Play custom bulb socket that will....well....plug into the stock bulb holder and 'play' nicely with the electrical system.
Had a local car guy step up and allow me to borrow his wife's car for the night.....good thing, as my original adjustments would have been way off (way to go Pontiac for making something level that should have been level).
Anyways, as you can clearly see, the only thing that is different about these lights compared to stock is the method of output. The bulb is the exact same bulb, nothing higher powered.....and i'm thinkng it's about 150% more coverage where needed....out front and down low. The stock fogs provide a better IMMEDIATE up front coverage, but they disappear after 20-30 feet....not these upgraded bad boys....they'll keep going muuuch further.
Now that I have these leveled how I needed them, i can get on to designing the LED layout for the turn signals.

This time around we are doing custom foglight projectors with LED signal lights...as well as LED side marker lights.
As usual, these will all be 100% completely plug-n-play, so the owner can simply unbolt stock and bolt these right back in, with no wiring modification needed.
First thing was first...had to get the foglights apart.....so after some dremel action they are apart. Next was to see if I could fit that Blazer projector in there....and it's almost like it was made for this application....after an hour of detailed dremel work that is. The projector fits in JUST barely.
Next will be to mount them and align them...which will be difficult as my bumper is different and the customer has a stock bumper....so I have to make do with what I have.
Project Caliberight came back for even MORE HID lighting.
Wanted his fogs to get in on the action.
Installed an 8000k HID kit to offset all the white he's got up top.
Since they are in fog lights, which have small reflector bowls, the blue barely comes out and sets this Caliber off at night.
Now he's got Low beam, High beam and fog beam HIDs....watch out if you see this thing at night....he'll see you, you might be blinded!!! (he's got projectors, so he's not going to blind you that bad)
Still need to do some fine tuning and rotating on the solsti's new fogs, but I fixed the seating issue with the passenger side.
We're good to go now
Got everything wired up last night....everything needs small adjustments, but this first go-around needed to be done before the big car show this weekend....so that goal was achieved.
These fog light projectors are pretty amazing...and put out more light than some peoples stock headlights...so I'm sold on them. I need to reseat the passenger side bulb and adjust my passenger side headlight a bit (all from the removal of bumpers and whatnot.
Only thing left to do is hook up the high beam solenoids on the matchbox projectors and I'll be good to go!
I'm diggin' my new led marker lights too....not sold on the blinkers, but the 6 straight line for the driving lights are awesome....give the car the sleek look I was hoping for!
Got the lights sealed and painted.....just need to hook up the turn signals and running lights somewhere and we're golden....output shots to follow
So I've been slowly collecting parts for this, and a new product came out and I had to give them a try. Mini-MINI projectors, smaller than the blazer fogs....which was the smallest available. Coolest thing about these is that they are Bi-Xenon as well...so when I flick my highs on, instead of shutting off, they'll just get brighter....WIN!!!
So far I've retrofitted them in and they are currently curing in the seal phase. Next up will be to determine the best way to keep my turn signals and what not.
The only bad thing with these is that the fogs are DEEP, in order to keep them from blocking the lense....so I had to cut some brackets on the stock bumper supports...so that means these won't necessarily be reproduceable for the masses....unless they want to cut their frames like I did....oh well.....things we do to stand out!!
