Client brought in her 2007 Toyota Sequoia for a full swap of the electrical system. Here is what I installed: Sony XAV-701HD Multimedia DVD Player with Pandora, HD Radio, Bluetooth and much more Generic Backup Camera, mounted by towing receiver Steering Wheel Integration Module for a seamless installation Add Comment What's being installed: JVC Navigation, Bluetooth, DVD Player with Sat Radio and Backup Camera Digital Designs CM1000 Mono Block Amplifier Digital Designs 10" 500 Series Woofers in a sealed down firing truck box Custom Hydro-Dipped Interior Accent Panels Projector Retrofitted Headlights All Gloss Black Gatling Gun Version 2 Shrouds, Dipped to match interior Panels Bi-Xenon Projectors for High/Low HID Lights Red Demon Eye Accent Lighting Super White LED Halos behind shroud for Iron Man V2 look All Accent lights on custom switches HID Fog Lights Started this project a week ago, but due to the simple fact that it wouldn't fit in the shop, I only had a few hours a night to work on this before I lost daylight. First thing was first, I needed to pop the headlights open so I could get them to the owner for paint, as well as all the parts to Hydro Dip to get them dipped. This project was made even more difficult because....well.....it's a Dodge. Mopar electrical systems straight up suck....anyone that mods them will say the same. All these electronics added, especially the lighting upgrades, had to be bullet-proof, or Dodge would let you know and have them not work properly. This truck was recently purchased about 3 weeks ago, and it looked nothing like it did when I got it....now that I'm done, it's even THAT much more noticeable. You'll be sure to break ya' neck when this thing drives by. Other Mods the owner has done in 3 short weeks: MBRP Muffler Tinted Windows Smoked Tails Painted all chrome bumpers either body match or black De-Badged Exterior Custom Made 22" Rims with 38" Toyo Tires Had a buddy of mine that was in need of an upgrade. Wanted a deck that would allow him to do everything he wanted but wasn't sure what was available. JVC to the rescue. This JVC KW-AV70BT Double Din Multimedia unit does it all; coupled with a KS-U30 Video iPod Cord and Sirius' SXV100v1 Tuner Kit, this deck will do HD Radio, Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, Pandora, USB and SD Card reading, as well as DVD Playback with future expansions of a backup camera. This deck doesn't offer Navigation out of the box, but with a simple download of JVC Navigation App on his smart phone, the owner will have a fully featured Navigation unit as well. With a few Metra Vehicla Specific parts, this big beast fit nicely into the 2009 Nissan Frontiers Dash. Had a Yukon Denali for a few days....gave it back to the customer with all these goodies installed: Pioneer DEH-P6300BT Fold-out DVD player with Navigation, Bluetooth and iPod/Pandora Backup Camera Custom installed in rear panel Custom 2nd Monitor Installed in Lower Dash Panel Area, Vehicle Info Center relocated to center console Rear Overhead Video Unit custom installed with LED lights So Ryan left over the weekend...which allowed me to have the truck. Round 1 of installs went like this: JVC DVD/Navigation/HD Radio/Bluetooth/USB Reciever Bluetooth Mic installed in Gauge Cluster (so you don't look like you are yelling at the top of your windshield) Satellite Radio installed to reciever Backup Camera installed near hitch reciever. Ryan has previously been painting EVERYTHING on his truck two-toned black (new limo black, that has some candy in it). So the middle console area was taped off and painted as well. So Ryan the Painter (read with the theme of Bob the Builder in your head) has been busy on his truck....and is finally ready for some Trax love (minus the headlights we did). I've ordered a JVC Navigation DVD player that's going to have SD, iPod, and Aux inputs, Navigation, Back up Camera, HD Radio and Satellite Radio installed. Round 1. Round 2 will consist of a rhino lined/sealed box with dual 10" Memphis subs getting a healthy 300 watts RMS each...so that should take care of the low end. For now, he's been painting all the interior parts to match his freshly painted two-toned exterior!! Sick truck! Started Saturday morning out with a quick install. Put an Alpine CD player in with an Alpine Power Pack. These little power packs are kind of nice. They are a hide-away unit that wires directly in-line with the headunit, so no need to add additional power wires and what not.....actually hid nicely under the aftermarket Alpine...and gave it a definite boost in highs and mids. Worth the upgrade. Lifted Sierra came back to button up some additional add-ons. Added steering wheel controls and navigation to the Clarion we put in last week. Steering wheel controls are a must if they are existing and the navigation will aid the owner when he gets down to Texas. Also replaced all the stock lights that were yellow with blue LEDs....turned out great...once again....too bright outside to get good photos. Cheers Had a customer come in with a AVIC unit that wasn't cooperating...so I decided to assist. After an hour of troubleshooting, came to the conclusion that the Scosche module to help integrate an aftermarket unit into the stock system was bad. So I informed the customer that I can hardwire it in, but he'll lose the ability to hear his turn signals and chimes throughout the vehicle. Since he was cool with that, we went forward with the install. Once the deck was up and running, we installed the included Bluetooth mic up in the A-Pillar, facing the driver; as well as mounted the included GPS antenna for the built in Navigation up on the dash. Bypass the X930BT so that it will play video while the unit is in motion. Standard 'ground the parking brake wire' doesn't work with these new units, so you have to figure out how to bypass it AND trick it to think that you AREN'T driving when you really are.....ahh the joy's of electronics! Customer was happy, install looked great....and...the best part..I got to use my Credit Card app on my Droid......BEST PURCHASE EVER......I can now accept charges with Credit Cards, using my smartphone....it's amazing! Full blown business now. Cheers I say complete, because Kip (owner) is here for a month, and I've put off some things to get his feedback, and will finish everything up before he goes back to New York. So here are some final shots....for now!! Started planning Project Evo tonight. Figured out a few locations for the amps, layout in the trunk and areas where all the gadgets and gizmo's will go. Trying to stuff a DVD player with nagivation, Bluetooth, Satellite Radio, and iPod hookups into a dash and throughout the car. Plus the addition of all the components for the high-end radar detector. Also, the amps and everything need a home in the rear! I think some metal is going to be in order! |
