Got everything wired up last night....everything needs small adjustments, but this first go-around needed to be done before the big car show this weekend....so that goal was achieved.
These fog light projectors are pretty amazing...and put out more light than some peoples stock headlights...so I'm sold on them. I need to reseat the passenger side bulb and adjust my passenger side headlight a bit (all from the removal of bumpers and whatnot.
Only thing left to do is hook up the high beam solenoids on the matchbox projectors and I'll be good to go!
I'm diggin' my new led marker lights too....not sold on the blinkers, but the 6 straight line for the driving lights are awesome....give the car the sleek look I was hoping for!
Got the lights sealed and painted.....just need to hook up the turn signals and running lights somewhere and we're golden....output shots to follow
So I've been slowly collecting parts for this, and a new product came out and I had to give them a try. Mini-MINI projectors, smaller than the blazer fogs....which was the smallest available. Coolest thing about these is that they are Bi-Xenon as well...so when I flick my highs on, instead of shutting off, they'll just get brighter....WIN!!!
So far I've retrofitted them in and they are currently curing in the seal phase. Next up will be to determine the best way to keep my turn signals and what not.
The only bad thing with these is that the fogs are DEEP, in order to keep them from blocking the lense....so I had to cut some brackets on the stock bumper supports...so that means these won't necessarily be reproduceable for the masses....unless they want to cut their frames like I did....oh well.....things we do to stand out!!
So the painter and I sat there wondering what we should attempt to get done first....hood dent or front bumper...as the show is only 2 days away. Well, we ground down the hood dent and I removed the bumper...so we're in it to win it....first 2 pics show our attempt at covering up the dent (ha). Solsti's been sanded down, all the chips and holes have been filled, she's primered and ready for some paint this morning! Most outrageous hot rods that go to these shows are farther along than this 2 days before a show....so we'll be cutting it close!!
Cheers
Ugh oh! Solsti's in the air......stay tuned for some better looking colors
Cheers
With the addition of the new smart phone, I picked up a new app with an OBD Link Bluetooth cable. This little addition is amazing. Since I mounted my phone where I did, I knew I'd be blocking important warning icons that may pop up from time to time.....so I decided that I'd get a device that could speak to the car......Scan Tool stepped up and provided this gem, now I can monitor any codes that may pop up (and clear them) as well can monitor pretty much anything I could ever need in my car (speak, Horsepower, Torque, O2 sensors, manifold temperatures, fuel pressure and much much more).
Cheers
Had some down time on the Solsti, so I figured I'd get some paint on her.
Just painted the windshield trim, since all models/colors of the Solstice were Silver.
Cheers
Didn't do much last night. The chrome on the door handles have been coming off on the driver side for some time now; so a little dremel work and some sanding and both sides were ready to go all black. Taped everything off, even the hinges (pain in the butt) and shot a few coats of black bedliner to match the speaker pods and accessory covers on the doors. Should look good with everything black and the main eye catchers silver carbon fiber (speakers).
Might have a few second tonight to get the amps wired up and throw on one set......if not, Friday for sure!
Being one of Boise's top customization shops has it's perks; as well as it's ups and downs, but today was a good one. We've been really busy in the shop and just finished up a few projects, so today I just chilled. Tweaked a little bit on Project Melex and starred at Project Solsti's door panels for some much needed inspiration. Played with the shop gaurd dog till he was too tired then called it a night.
Sometimes the best thing you CAN do is just walk away from something and come back another day, recharged and ready to go!
Basically, I'm saying......Stayed tuned for some good updates!
Busy Busy this weekend. 90% finished with Project Maxima. Doors all have new adapters and Arc Audio speakers. Coaxial in the rear and Components up front. All powered off of Ben's Alpine F250, 4 channel amp. Provides insane highs that don't distort and decent lows. This system replaced a factory installed Clarion system that was already very good.
Started on the hidden subbox (suprise). Cut out the rear deck lid and pre-mounted the box. Waiting on the sub, then will finish the install. This system should sound very good once all is said and done.
Project Solsti got some love. Finished the door pods, now just need to mount them on the doors, mount the doors on the car, run new wires for the dual speakers and install new Arc Audio amps.
