His overall goal was to get these to look one-off, and unique...as well as have them look like an 'eye' at night......I think we accomplished that.
I'll throw all these photos over to the new 2012 projects page!!
Cheers
Finished these up for a customer in Brazil.

Got a GMC Arcadia Stock Halogen Projector Headlamp FO FREE!!! (no waffle fries though)
Just one side...so now I have an extra Valeo Low Beam and High Beam Projector.....might put them in Project BaggedXelem....you never know. Anywho....these were a PAIN to open, I think because they had been sitting, without a seal on the back of them, so the glue was just shot.....so I had to cut the lens off.....no biggy since I only wanted the projectors. Anyways.......gotta love me some freebies! Project Caliberight came back for even MORE HID lighting.
Wanted his fogs to get in on the action. Installed an 8000k HID kit to offset all the white he's got up top. Since they are in fog lights, which have small reflector bowls, the blue barely comes out and sets this Caliber off at night. Now he's got Low beam, High beam and fog beam HIDs....watch out if you see this thing at night....he'll see you, you might be blinded!!! (he's got projectors, so he's not going to blind you that bad) Had a return client bring in his new 2007 Subaru Outback for some HID additions.
He was used to the custom Bi-Xenon Projectors I retrofitted into his old ride, that he had to have the same output in his new ride. This is the only time it's really ok to put HIDs in a stock housing. When they have stock projectors. Output was same as stock, just brighter. No glare on low beam whatsoever. Installed our Digital High Intensity Discharge kit in both the low beam and high beam areas. hope you like Owner got around to snapping a pic of the headlights we did nearly a year ago and sent one my way. He still loves them and gets compliments all the time.
So....cheers! Been working on this one on-and-off where I have time.
Local client wanted a bunch of lighting put into his stock headlights while his car was down for service. Thought we'd do as much as we've ever done. Single Bi-Xenon Projector Retrofitted into the Stock Halogen Low Beam Reflector Area. Fake Projector Lens and Shroud Retrofitted into Stock High Beam Reflector Area. Both Backing Shields were painted Red to give off a Demon Eye look when lights are off. Both Projectors have 6 Red LEDs to give off a BRIGHT Demon Eye look when turned on. Main Gatlin Shroud has the Iron-Man halo mod behind it....white. Everything was painted Matte Black, while the stock reflector shroud got a coat of white to match the car. I'll have more pics of these when we get them installed and wired up. Had a past elderly client of mine come in for some HID lights. The stock lights didn't do what he felt should have done...so upgraded High Intensity Discharge lighting is what fit the bill.
This client had used Trax in the past....kind of. A cheap knock off kit was installed a long time ago and we repaired it a few years ago with used parts to get him on the road....finally stopped working on him last week and now he's got the new hotness in his Buick!! You'll see this one cruisin' around Boise for sure! Still need to do some fine tuning and rotating on the solsti's new fogs, but I fixed the seating issue with the passenger side.
We're good to go now Couldn't fit this huge truck in the shop, so I needed to work quick before I lost daylight (as you can see, I missed it by THAT much.
Digital Slim HID low beam lights Hyper Blue LED eyebrows installed on a switch mounted near stock light switch So I've been slowly collecting parts for this, and a new product came out and I had to give them a try. Mini-MINI projectors, smaller than the blazer fogs....which was the smallest available. Coolest thing about these is that they are Bi-Xenon as well...so when I flick my highs on, instead of shutting off, they'll just get brighter....WIN!!!
So far I've retrofitted them in and they are currently curing in the seal phase. Next up will be to determine the best way to keep my turn signals and what not. The only bad thing with these is that the fogs are DEEP, in order to keep them from blocking the lense....so I had to cut some brackets on the stock bumper supports...so that means these won't necessarily be reproduceable for the masses....unless they want to cut their frames like I did....oh well.....things we do to stand out!! Past customer wanted to upgrade his lighting situation. He came to the right shop.
Existing provisions for the Ford were not present, so (since the bumper was dented anyways) we replaced it with an upgraded bumper with Foglight holes. Along with those, we added HID lighting in the fog lights as well as the headlights...so now he has Fogs, with HIDs, and his Hi/Low beams are also HIDs......PLEEENTY of lighting Since the fog lights weren't there from stock, I had to make a custom wire harness to power the additional lights, and I put an LED rocker (green) switch below the stock headlight switch to match the interior lighting. This way he have toggle on/off his fogs whenever he wants, and the highs won't shut them off, and he can drive solo with them on by themselves...pretty nifty. Cheers Knocked this one out just in time to return to customer.
Thing looks sick at night....guess even the cops downtown commented on it :) :) Morimoto Bi-Xenon Projectors Morimoto 8000k HID bulbs Morimoto 35ive watt Ballasts Custom (re-wired) bi-xenon HID wire harness Gatlin Gun v2.0 Shrouds (left chrome) Stock headlight housings painted gloss black 90mm CCFL halo lighting behind gatlin shrouds Custom bypassed DRL system for the Dodge Caliber's CAN-BUS electrical system On-Off lighted switch inside for the Halo Lights 140 Red LED lights throught the interior Under Front Driver and Passenger feet Under Rear Driver and Passenger feet Custom mounted behind Custom brackets in the rear for cargo lighting On-Off lighted switch inside for these LEDs Lots of lights, lots of troubleshooting, lots of waiting on stuff to dry.....not alot of time!! Cheers! Needed to run to the shop really quick durning lunch to get the last of the 'long ass time to bond' material setup. Problem with doing these things on a quick deadline is that you never have enough time to let things setup properly.
So when I get back tonight, we'll be full steam ahead. Not really sure on the name yet, but I'll work.
Got a 2007 Dodge Caliber that is getting some serious lighting upgrades. Owner originally purchased some eBay headlights and as 90% of them do, they started leaking. We agreed that projector retrofitting was the best thing to do. Also, we'll be doing a few (haha) lights on the interior. So here we go: Mini H1 Bi-Xenon Projectors Morimoto 35ive watt HID bulbs and ballasts Gatlin Gun v2.0 Shrouds with Halo's behind them Audi-inspired LED lighting Amber 30 LED park/turn signal bulbs 150 LEDs inside throughout the floor and cabin (red) The only snag so far is that the Dodge electrical system is CAN-BUS....which basically means "No, you can't put anything aftermarket on here, because we're an awesome technological company". So the last picture if of my 3 failed attempts at bypassing this.....on to the next one I guess! Cheers!! So I'm helping out a fellow Solstice member....long story short, he got the short end of the stick (it was more of a handle that was offered to him and his end was a wet noodle) on an internet sale, and being that I do 20% of my business online, I hate these types of transactions (makes my job alot harder). So I offered my services to make things right.
I have a few things in front of this project, but I'll start busting them out quicker now that Memphry is almost completed. Things to do: Remove existing Tint from headlights Remove cheaply made chrome shroud Add shroud with material that can withstand heat putoff by HID lighting Add CCFL Halo lighting behind said shroud Reassemble and ship! Till then Hit it hard on Friday night and haven't stopped until now (Sunday night)
Had some time to get some other projects started and did some random mini installs while I was at it...all it all, I'm just waiting on paint on the corners and taillights....and the subwoofer amp.....then we're donezo!!!! Got the speakers all installed upfront and 4 channel amp temporarily hooked up and gave it a listen. Un-tuned and all the settings untouched..this system already sounds crazy good....highs are perfect and the midbass is very impressive!!!! All that hardwork on the sound deadening was worth it...we'll see what happens when we add 2400 watts to two subwoofers.....which, by the way, have a home now.....got the subwoofer box smoothed out and texture coated.....thing is a BEAST.....you want SPL out of a daily, while having good tunes when it's not hitting hard....gotta build the box as big as you can.....Box was a bit bigger than I wanted...but to get it tuned right, had to go this route.........gonna slam! Got the headlights sealed up and ready for a final tweak/leveling once the corners get smoked. Got the LEDs wired up front on a switch and other than that....long weekend...but we're about 95% done....waiting on the Mailman now (not Karl Malone). Cheers Got the shrouds painted to match the existing color scheme of the car...I think they look sick...and will look damn good on the car! Just need to seal the sides and we'll be good to go.
Got the majority of the stock pieces and panels back into the car...enough so that I could pull all three cars in..woot! I must say that with the back seats all in and the door jams covered...this things is pretty damned air tight....when you close a door and you're in the car, you can definitely tell it's sealed.....so all the sound dampening was worth it!! We'll see what happens when we give 2500 watts to two ported MOJO woofers!!! Speaker of that, I found a pic of the box when it was being constructed....but somehow the camera put a 'ripple' effect on it....so ya...kind of like a sneak peek shot.....I like it, so I left it! Cheers Only had about 20 minutes to work on the Camry tonight.....so I test fitted the headlights with the projectors to see how much modifications I'm going to have to do.....wasn't too bad...just knocked a couple of teeth off, and we're golden....next is paint (thinking of a cool theme to match the exterior of the car).
All the new goodies for the Uber light festival that's going to be happening in the front of the car showed up. We're doing:
New Crystal Euro Headlights with Bi-Xenon Projectors, 35 watt HID bulbs with Morimoto Ballasts New Crystal Euro Side Lights, smoked and throwing some LEDs in there to light up the night. Was sitting around and thought 'what the hell', and opened them up...so I'm 5 days ahead of schedule on the lights.....might as well throw some paint on them tomorrow and get them ready for the retro! Cheers Our painter finally got his VW lowered and prep'd for the Safari windows.
Also, got his HIDs all wired up and they look sick! Cheers Finished up the light portion tonight....waiting on the sealant to dry, then I'll mount them in the headlight brackets and the owner is coming over on Wednesday....so I'll have more pics on Wednesday of the mounted lights.
The corners will stay chrom for now, but we'll be ordering some more LEDs and painting everything black and having all new LED lighting in those as well.....should be a pretty high tech Honda!! Cheers Got the LEDs installed, blacked out the reflector piece, cleaned and sealed the lights back up last night.
Now, just need to waterproof them and we'll be good to go. Cheers So, this one hasn't been going as quickly as I'd like/need it to, but we're making progress.
Painted everything and mounted the shrouds. Now I just need to mount the LEDs, wire up everything, then I can seal them back up! Almost done!!! Cheers Halo's came in.
.5cm off. That's a big difference when you're working with two different products that need to come together. Ordered 105mm Halos instead of the 100mm ones I originally ordered. So, anyone want 100mm Halos for their whip? Let me know....I have a set with ballasts! All products ordered and shipped for Project NetherSolsti.
Halo CCFL Angel Eyes arrived, now just waiting on new headlights and projector parts. Everything should be here by the 20th. So install will start Thursday or Friday. Going to knock this one out relatively fast, as Project EVO is sitting in the shop for the first time in a few months. Will start removing panels and doing the first round of Fiberglass this week as well. No rest for the wicked! |
