Was sick this weekend, so I didn't get much done. Hooked up a customer on his old Alpine deck. He wanted an Aux input on his Alpine, and had been using an FM Modulator. He didn't know about the Ai-net port that's on the backside of the deck, so I hooked it up for him and he was happy as a clam. Yet, this also describes how I dislike Apple so much. Everything is iPod based (which is nice if you're one of the billion iPod fans) but for everyone else, all you can do in this market is to plug in your mini-jack headphone plug into an aux input port and JUST play music. With iPod specific decks, it will charge your iPod and display the music tracks over the deck's display.....pretty nice, if you like iPod. What about Blackberry or Droid owners? They have cool phones too, with plenty of music on them. Oh well, Apple is doing their job at cornering the market. At least there is still satellite radio and bluetooth out there for all other phone owners. Oh, and Pioneer is starting to introduce Pandora integration into their new decks...so all other music fans that love Pandora will not be able to access their playlists/channels IN their cars......take that Apple!
