Had a very good friend of mine bring in his kids Subaru Outback for a simple Bluetooth Stereo install......it was all good until I saw that it was the dreaded 'Dual Digital Climate Controlled' unit...which means the AC is built into the stereo.
I've swapped this kind of deck over a few times in the past, but it takes a few weeks of planning and ordering; since you have to order a special dash kit from Japan that came on only JDM models with Navigation.
Well....that wasn't going to happen today....after some internet searching and verifying....I start cutting and modding.
Luckily the stereo we picked out was a Digital Media unit so it had no CD Player built-in...making it VERY small.
After everything was said and done...this stereo gave the client all the inputs he could ever need, with much better sound processing and even MORE knobs to looking in his dash!
