Got the helmet back after a few days.....owner wasn't able to get as much body work done as we would have liked...but with the crazy deadline ahead, he had to push forward and paint it. He did paint it with Plasti-Dip, so it can all peel off and some serious body work can be done before the next closest Deadmau5 concert.
So my task was to mount all the lenses, lights, helmet and wire everything.
Mounted the eyes first and secured the EL panels behind them.
Then test fitted the hard hat into place before a combo of glue, fiberglass resin and expanding foam were applied.
Then I secured the face plate and fabricated a temporary mount for the mouth lights.
After all of this, everything needed wired up and secured. There were 3 main battery packs that needed mounted, as well as another smaller pack for the EL wire.
I got everything wired up and gave it back to the owner....he was going to install the EL Wire.
This project was a pretty good experience.....can't wait to finish it up down the road and make it SHINE!!!
