Client from Florida sent me up a set of taillights a while ago...and it was finally his turn!
The Sky/Solstice market for aftermarket parts is pretty much non-existent....so when it comes to lighting....you have to make your own coolness.
The original intention of these lights were to provide an 'outline' lighting source for Running Lights and an upgrade in the 'braking' side as well.
The biggest issue with this build was the fact that the OEM Red inner lens was VERY diffused...so no matter what you did when the lens was off, as soon as you put it back on, it'd diffuse the light source so much that it looks like you did nothing.
So, I had to create my own custom diffusors out of Shade/Blind Rod....like everyone did back in the day.....hey if it worked then, might as well reuse the idea.
For the Brake/Turn lights I used Morimoto XB Pods and ran them on a sequential modulator so they sequence when turns are activated.
These look very OEM when off...but when on, they'll match the car perfectly!
